eScapegoat

Apr 02, 2014

The eScapegoat roams the Internet collecting sins before Yom Kippur. This web app is inspired by the Yom Kippur rituals from the time of the Temple in which a goat is symbolically burdened with the sins of the Jewish people. In the app, this action is symbolized by a whimsical animated goat receiving the sins that users share with it.

Siblings in the Torah: Aaron, Moses and Miriam

Nov 13, 2013

A music video about the Torah’s most famous siblings: Aaron, Miriam and Moses, (Aharon, Miryam and Moshe in Hebrew) and the many adventures and rivalries they share throughout the Torah.

This piece was created in four weeks by 6 families, brought together by Kevah. Since each of the families had varied backgrounds in studying Torah and were diverse in age, the group decided to take a creative approach to learning text together. The eleven kids aged 5 to 15 along with their parents – a speechwriter, studio painter, landscape architect, art photographer, museum curator, singer, programmer, professor, and several entrepreneurs – decided that they wanted to make an animated musical film about sibling relationships in the Torah.

Sukkot: Back to Basics

Oct 05, 2013

Sukkot is the happiest Jewish holiday, but it’s traditional to read Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), which can get pretty gloomy! Hadara Levin-Areddy tells the story from King Solomon’s point of view and connects the dots from sadness to joy.

A Passover Seder…with the Four Sons

Oct 05, 2013

There’s a famous part of the Passover Haggadah where four children are described – one who is wise, wicked, simple and one does not know how to ask a question. We decided to zoom in these four sons (the tradition calls them sons, and we went literal here…do be sure to stay around for a comment on that choice at the end of the video!) The characters – wise, wicked, simple and the one who doesn’t know how to ask questions, can be found all over the world, but we’ve set their story in Moscow.

Watch out for a fun global Passover quiz at the end!
